How long have you been singing and when did you realize your passion for singing?
Been singing ever since I was a kid. Realized it when I was about 9 or 10 years old and heard myself singing along to song, thinking I may have something with my voice.

I have always associated music and words with my emotions and tie these things to different events in my life. As much as I love to sing, I also love to write. I write everything from poetry to short stories to editorial pieces. I believe one of the best ways to connect with others is through music. Both writing and music tells a story and connects our past to our present which draws on our future. I can hear a song that takes me back to a particular place in time and I can recall almost every detail of that experience just through the sound and lyrics. It can sometimes be a painful feeling, but it can also be joyous as well. I am a highly emotional person and making these connections is what has gotten me through some difficult times. I lost a couple of babies before becoming pregnant with my first (living) son. I was riddled with worry, but decided to make each day special, not knowing if I would have another day with him still growing inside me. I sang one song over and over again throughout my pregnancy with him and I’ll never forget the comfort it brought me during such a worrisome time. Of course, I carried full term and went on to have a second son as well. Now I share my love for music with both of them and we regularly have sing-alongs in the car whenever we drive places. Music resonates deep within in my soul and I enjoy sharing that passion with others any chance I get.
