How long have you been singing and when did you realize your passion for singing?
Growing up, music was always my safe space, my therapy. I sang only for myself, & it was a very private thing. I hate the sound of my own voice, so it never occurred to me that other people might enjoy it. It was only in the last few years that I began to realize my own “therapy”, might help others as well. I guess that’s when I started getting passionate about singing. I played for the first time in public in October of 2019, but because of Covid, I didn’t really start “performing” until March 2021. I’m still just trying to figure it out.

I’ve struggled with mental health issues for as long as I can remember. Severe ADHD, depression, & anxiety made school almost unbearable, and high school quite literally nearly killed me. It should be no surprise that music has played a huge role in my recovery. I played Saxophone in junior high, but I wasn’t passionate about it. I got a Ukulele for Christmas my freshman year, and that Ukulele probably saved my life. In August 2019, my family and friends created The Lost & Found Initiative, a non-profit using music & other art forms to help others struggling with mental health issues. Music is still my therapy, so I always play what I feel & it’s very emotional, but it’s not a private thing anymore. I’m not alone anymore, & neither are you!
