How did you hear about Metro Idol?
I just happened to go to The Cottage the night the contest was happening, so I entered!

How long have you been singing and when did you realize your passion for singing?
I was in the Texas Boys Choir as a child, but my voice changed very early (5th grade!) so I had to drop out. Other kids teased me for my deep booming voice and I became very self-conscious of it. Later as an adult, during a sabbatical following the end of my IT career in 2017, I took bass guitar and singing lessons at School of Rock (in Burbank, CA) and found out people like the unique timbre of my singing voice. Now I can’t get enough of being on stage!
When I left Los Angeles and moved back to Texas, I found the karaoke community here and haven’t stopped. I started hosting karaoke this summer.

While at School of Rock in Hollywood I got to perform “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” at the Whisky A Gogo on the Sunset Strip, the very same stage where Poison got their start in the 1980’s.
I’m a certified SCUBA diver, and a sailor. I have sailed from California to Mexico twice, and have dived in three oceans.
